Antarctica
Culture & Identity
Since Antarctica was uninhabited until the past century
and those who currently live on the island are temporary residents, there is no
true culture or identity associated with the island. The culture that exists is
one of scientific access and cooperation as nearly every resident works for a government-run
or government-supported project. In each of these scientific communities the culture
and people are representative by the country each is from. From one community to
the next though, there is a true feeling of cooperation as human interaction is
always welcomed, no matter the other person's origin.
