Bolivia is one of the most ethnically diverse countries in all of the Americas as
the population is primarily Aymara or Quechua, two indigenous groups of people that
have dominated the region for centuries. Additionally, many of the people also have
some European in them, but it is these indigenous groups that dominate the country
culturally, linguistically, and today also politically.
The country's top sights reflect this diversity as Lake Titicaca and its reed
housing and boats are an impressive look into Aymaran culture while the former silver
mines in Sucre display Spanish colonization and the architecture left behind from
this wealth. La Paz displays the modern side of the country, perhaps the only truly
modern city in the country.
